In the year 2029, mutants are nearly extinct and an older Logan (Hugh Jackman) is a limo driver who is trying to save up enough money to get him and Charles Xavier (Patrick Stewart) a boat to go live on for the rest of their lives. However things change when meets Gabriela (Elizabeth Rodriguez) and Laura (Dafne Keen) who are trying to get to Eden. When Gabriela is murdered, Laura will tag along with Logan and Charles who are trying to stay ahead of the men who are hunting them in the movie “Logan” (2017).
There are several elements of this movie that are admirable. The cinematography and musical score are truly works of art. Something about the cinematography is that it does not feel like a typical superhero movie, it feels unique. Director, James Mangold, makes his mark in a film that is unlike any other.
Along with the cinematography, the score does an excellent job at keeping the audience immersed in the movie
The story being told is so powerful. By the end of the movie when Laura says “daddy”, it will bring the audience to tears. The writers did an excellent job at creating a story that truly captured the darkness of Logan, but turned it into a beautiful father-daughter story.
It was great watching Stewart back as Charles one last time. Jackman did an amazing job portraying Logan and was amazing to watch as The Wolverine once again but the stand out actor was Keen. She was phenomenal as Laura/X-23. Keen’s emotional range was very impressive to show the anger and hate while being a savage killer to the sad daughter who loses her father. The chemistry between Jackman and Keen is unlike anything
“Logan” was a fantastic movie that kept me on the edge of my seat until the very end. The ending was so powerful that it brought me to tears, which I was not expecting to happen. I had heard of what happens in the movie, but watching it was much harder than I thought it would be. I absolutely enjoyed every second of this movie and I will recommend this movie to anyone who loves a great superhero movie or a father-daughter story. I rate this film a 5 out of 5 film reels.
